DIY All-Natural Yoga Mat Spray (That Works Everywhere!)

I don’t know about you, but when I finally roll out my yoga mat after a long day, I want to breathe deeply—not smell a harsh cleaner. That’s why I started making this all-natural, all-purpose cleaner years ago. It’s simple, gentle, and fresh, with a little antibacterial power from essential oils.

The best part? It doesn’t just work on yoga mats—you can use it on countertops, bathroom surfaces, or anywhere that needs a quick, natural refresh.

Why I Love This Recipe

It’s cleaning without chemicals. Most conventional cleaners use synthetic fragrances and harsh antibacterial agents that can irritate skin or leave behind residues. This blend relies on vinegar and pure essential oils to do the heavy lifting—naturally.

The essential oils in this spray aren’t just for scent. Tea Tree, Grapefruit, Orange, and Lemon oils are known for their antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, helping to cut through grime and keep your mat (and home) fresh and safe.

DIY Yoga Mat Antibacterial Spray

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup White Vinegar

  • 10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

  • 10 drops White Grapefruit Essential Oil

  • 10 drops Orange Essential Oil

  • 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil

  • 1 cup Distilled Water

How to Make It:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a glass spray bottle (8–16 oz works great).

  2. Shake gently before each use.

  3. Lightly mist over your yoga mat, let sit for 1–2 minutes, and wipe clean with a soft cloth.

  4. Allow your mat to air dry before rolling it up again.
