Holiday Makeup Made Simple: Jewels’ Tips for Effortless, Natural Glam

Holiday parties are planned. Neighborhood get-togethers are on the calendar. The holidays are a chance for you to sparkle and shine at every event. Adding a little makeup can help you add a touch of glam to your holiday outfit. Here are a few of my personal suggestions!

I always start by cleansing, toning, applying my daily face cream and then topping with the Beauty Balm. This gives me a smooth, moisturized surface to start from. The makeup glides on much easier!

Personally, I apply concealer with a brush—it blends into my skin better and gives me more control of where it goes. I typically apply it under my eyes, around my nose area, and along my jawline.

Apply a Pressed Powder

Our Pure Anada foundation is made with titanium dioxide and zinc, so it also adds a layer of UV protection. I use a large brush and apply it lightly all over my face and neck. I typically use the “Transparent” because it doesn’t add color, just a very light matte finish.

Add a Bronzer for a Sun-Kissed Look

I don’t wear bronzer daily, so using it on special occasions feels extra nice—it gives you that sun-kissed look with just a hint of shimmer. Apply bronzer just below your cheekbones to contour your face, and lightly around the perimeter to brighten your complexion. I recommend using a gentle patting motion rather than brushing.

Personalize Your Eye Shadow Look

Opt for a smokey eye, a natural look, or glam it up with brighter colors. I start by using a creamy ivory in the inner corner of my eye and along my brow bone. Since my eyes are somewhat hooded, I prefer to apply the darker shadow a bit higher—it gives my eyes a natural lift. I also like a pop of color on the outside of my lower lids to add interest.

Pencil or Liquid Eye Liner?

Choose the one that works best for your look. Liquid creates a bold, dramatic line, while pencil offers a softer, more blendable finish. To make your eyes appear larger, avoid lining the entire lid—start near the middle of your eye and extend outward about three-quarters of the way.

Define and Fill In Your Brows

I love the Pure Anada brow pencil because of the built-in brush on the other end. After filling in my brows, I use the brush to blend and soften the look—it keeps them looking natural. A sweep of mascara opens the eyes and gives that finished touch. For fun, try a pop of color like blue, or keep it classic with black or brown.

Last, But Not Least—Lips!

There are endless lip options—glossy, matte, or natural. Because I usually wear a more neutral face, I love making my lips stand out. I line them with a fine pencil, then fill in with a bold color. The liner helps keep the lipstick perfectly in place. I also love lip gloss—it’s easy to apply, lasts a long time, and a quick swipe at a party keeps everything fresh.
