We are taking a break from your regularly scheduled Jewels blog, so that I (Abby) can tell you a story.
In 2024 around Christmas time, I came into Simple Body as a customer, looking for natural deodorant for my new boyfriend. He had been ranting recently about how toxic everything is that we eat and put on our bodies, and everyone needs deodorant, right? I thought he was a little bit crazy, but he was cute.
Fast forward to now. Now, I work at Simple Body. Now, I use our products for facials and bridal makeup. Now, I am just as crazy as that man, and now that man is about to be my husband!
They say that everything happens for a purpose, but I never would have thought that Morgan (said future husband) would be the catalyst that brought me to such a wonderful community.
I started using and selling Simple Body in my salon early 2025, and I have been an employee at Simple Body now for almost a year. You all have quickly made a home in my heart. The staff here is the best team I have ever worked with, and seeing all the familiar regulars has turned from retail robotics to swapping stories about life. Jewels has really built something special here, and I feel so grateful to be a part of it.
My Bridal-Era Skincare Routine
For all my fellow brides out there, I have put together a list of some MUST HAVE products for you!
Because this store hasn’t just helped me in terms of a community and place of employment, but the products here have truly changed my life. There is SO much stress about your appearance when you are in your bridal era. You have to look your best, feel your best, and act your best, all while planning (potentially) the most stressful event of your life.
This daily routine has helped me keep my skin looking and feeling its best during all of the madness.
For a Little Extra Self-Care
And for those of you who are wanting to do some extra self-care (great for stress management, btw), this is what I’ve added to my weekly routine:

“Men’s skincare” (I hate that phrase because we all have skin) has such a weird stigma around it, but you want the groom to be looking and feeling his best for his big day too!
Morgan has very sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin, and these products have really made a difference for him too!! Here’s what I have him using:

A Family Skincare Party
Around my bridal shower, Jewels welcomed my family and future in-laws to Simple Body for a group skincare consult, and they still RAVE about it!
I have brought them all a few products to try around holiday times, but it was so awesome to have everyone build their own routines during our group skincare consultation and find their own favorite products.
Learning My Own Bridal Makeup
Another major bridal era development for me was learning my own bridal makeup.
I am picky. I am not a fan of makeup and prefer a natural look, so I knew that I wanted to do my makeup myself. This realization turned into WAY more than I thought it would, and I ended up training in professional bridal makeup.
It was such an interesting shift in perspective becoming a wedding vendor while planning my own wedding, and helped me to be more gracious and understanding to the people we were hiring. I am so grateful for that.
Pure Anada (the makeup line we carry at Simple Body) fits into my kit SO well. It performs well in natural looks as well as full glam, and it pairs wonderfully with Simple Body skin prep underneath.

My Wedding Vendors

It never ceases to amaze me how many connections Jewels has. She’s like that uncle that always “knows a guy.”

I will be out of office for a lot of October! I know I’m just a retail girl, but I do truly feel that I will miss this place and all of you while I am out. PLEASE come in and say hi beforehand!
I work weekends and would love to help you out with pre-wedding skincare and makeup recommendations before I leave.
Morgan and I will be soaking up the sun and sipping on Mai Tais in Kauai to celebrate our marriage. It feels odd, and very privileged, to be visiting an island that has had such a devastating hurricane season.
We have some wholesale partners and longtime customers in Hawaii, and my heart truly goes out to you all. I have been reflecting on ways to help out the island before I visit, and things to do while we are there to help the community, so if you are a local or know of any organizations that are needing help, PLEASE send the info our way!!
