How our Bamboo Face Polish Won a Clean Beauty Award
Back in September 2025 I saw an ad for the Clean Beauty Awards, and I thought..."Why Not?" I'd never entered a competition before and I had no idea what to expect. I wanted to be sure we were entering a competition with integrity and transparency, which is how we do business. I did some research on Clean Cert...and you. know what I found? A company that conducts themselves very much like we do! So, I dove in.
I read that the products are evaluated by an independent panel of judges, beauty influencers from around the nation and were to be judged on formulation integrity, performance, and long-term skin health...not on marketing claims. I anxiously entered our Bamboo Face Polish, which is one my favorite products. The formula is unique for an exfoliating product. I wanted to combine hydrating, moisturizing and exfoliating ingredients to skin would feel moisturized after the exfoliation process...not stripped. Which can be very uncommon with an exfoliating process. It took a couple of years to perfect the formula, but all good things take time I believe.
Our customers responded really well to the formula and our esteticians were raving about how well it removed dead skin and how glowing their clients faces were!
I knew the competition would be tough and filled with competitors from all over the world. But, honestly I kind of submitted it and forgot about it. I knew the judges would spend 3 months testing and evaluating and I got busy with the holiday season. In January I went on vacation and then returned home to an email saying we took 3rd place!
Being named Top 3 at the 2026 Clean Beauty Awards for our Bamboo Face Polish felt especially meaningful to our small team.
What judges look for in clean beauty
At their core, the Clean Beauty Awards prioritize products that demonstrate thoughtful formulation. Our product had to be screened for over 1400 potentially harmful ingredients that are prevalently used in skincare products. We even had to reveal our "secret formula" of essential oils. These Independent Judges evaluate how ingredients work together, how it feels against it's competitors, and if performance aligns with clean beauty principles — not just on paper, but in real use.
In skincare, especially exfoliation, that balance matters. Too aggressive, and the skin becomes compromised. Too gentle, and the product doesn’t deliver meaningful results.
Gentle exfoliation, done thoughtfully
Bamboo Face Polish was formulated with this exact balance in mind. Rather than relying on harsh abrasives, it uses finely milled bamboo stem extract alongside nourishing oils and barrier-supporting ingredients to gently smooth and refine the skin.
The goal isn’t to strip or “resurface” aggressively — it’s to support natural skin renewal while maintaining comfort, hydration, and integrity of the skin barrier. This approach makes it suitable not only for at-home routines, but also for professional use by estheticians who need results they can trust on a wide range of skin types.
