With so many types of moisturizers on the market, choosing the right one for your skin type can be confusing. Do I use a cream, butter, serum, oil, or lotion? Proper skin hydration comes in many forms and doesn’t always come in just one bottle. Layering your moisturizer has tremendous benefits for addressing your skin’s specific needs. Let’s walk through a few skincare scenarios together and discuss how to hydrate your skin by layering your moisture.
Scenario 1:”I don’t have any pressing skin issues, but I need a little more moisture.”
Wash your face with one of Simple Body’s Face Washes, uniquely created with different skin types in mind: Rose Face Wash for mature skin, Chamomile Face Wash for sensitive skin, Lavender Face Wash for combination skin, and Peppermint Face Wash for oily or acne-prone skin. Next, use a toner to tighten and tone your pores: Rosewater toner for normal, dry, mature, or sensitive skin, or Clean Sweep Toner for acne-prone, combination, or oily skin. Then, moisturize your skin with Simple Body’s Daily Face Cream. Appropriate for all skin types, we designed this cream with two purposes in mind: to penetrate deeply and form a protective barrier on the skin’s surface. It is a fantastic cream for anti-aging.
At the end of the day, wash your face and tone just as you did in the morning. However, you will apply Simple Body’s Nightly Face Serum instead of Daily Face Cream. Our serum blends certified organic extra virgin Olive Oil, Sesame Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and Jojoba Oil. The properties of these oils combine to make an antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory-rich moisturizing serum perfect for nightly hydration. Additionally, we added a blend of essential oils that will help you relax and give you a better night’s sleep, allowing your skin the time it needs to replenish and repair skin cells.
Scenario 2: “My skin feels dry halfway through the day.”
Use a Face Wash, Toner, and Daily Face Cream in the morning. Then apply a small amount of anti-aging Beauty Balm, especially to areas that need the most moisture. We use Jojoba oil, a humectant, to draw water into the top layer of the skin. This Balm also contains a large percentage of vitamin C and pumpkin seed oil. Both ingredients reduce free radical damage that can cause fine lines and wrinkles.
Before bed, wash your face, remove any makeup, apply a toner, and add nightly face serum for moisture. Finish by layering your moisturizer with Simple Body’s anti-aging Beauty Balm, adding antioxidants and the nutrients necessary to replenish hydration to your skin.
Scenario 3: “My skin still feels dry all the time!”
Genetics, living in a dry climate, and working outside are a few reasons your skin may need an extra layer of protection and assistance to stay hydrated during the day. Begin with face wash, toner, Daily Face Cream, and anti-aging Beauty Balm. Then apply Pomegranate oil to dry areas, dark spots, and fine lines and wrinkles. Pomegranate oil nourishes and softens skin, reduces puffiness, boosts collagen production, and evens skin tone. It also shields skin from the sun’s harmful U.V. rays!
End the day with face wash and toner. Then, blend the Nightly Face Serum with a few drops of Pomegranate oil before applying it to your whole face and neck. Seal in moisture by applying anti-aging Beauty Balm to areas prone to dryness.
Scenario 4: “My skin is mature and feels excessively dry.”
You may have had oily skin all your life and suddenly notice that you can’t get enough moisture. As we age, our skin becomes less efficient at retaining hydration. Yet, another reason why layering is so essential! Your morning skincare routine will begin the same way with face wash and toner. However, before you apply your Daily Face Cream, hydrate your skin with Pomegranate oil and finish layering your moisturizer with anti-aging Beauty Balm (our FAVORITE natural anti-aging skin care product).
Use all three layers of moisture (Pomegranate oil, Nightly Face Serum, and Beauty Balm) before you go to sleep and wake up with glowing, radiant skin.
So, by layering different kinds of moisture, you can treat varying degrees of dryness! Each person is beautifully unique, and so is your skincare routine! Knowing ways to work with your skin to give it what it needs to retain hydration, protect it from the stress of daily activities, and prevent premature aging at every stage of life, is easier than you think. Hopefully, this guide will give you the confidence to tailor our products to meet your individual skin care needs.
