You wouldn’t believe how many great skincare questions we get every week — and honestly, they’re usually the same ones I’d be asking if I were standing on the other side of the counter. So I thought, why not put them all in one place? Here’s a little peek into the questions we get most often:.
“Do I need to keep my skincare in the fridge?”
Short answer: no — at least not for daily use.
Our products are made fresh, so you don’t need to refrigerate them unless you’re stocking up (which we don’t really recommend). Think of it like fresh food: buy what you’ll use, and use it while it’s fresh.
That said, if you live somewhere warm or want to slow bacteria growth, you can store things like Body Butter, Lotion, and Face Cream in the fridge. Just skip storing your Beauty Balm in the fridge — the natural Vitamin C can cause it to harden on top.
And here’s another tip: Deodorant. In the summer, some of our customers keep it in the fridge so it doesn’t melt — totally fine! Just make sure to set it out on the counter for about 24 hours before using, otherwise the plastic twist-up mechanism can crack. (Ask me how I know. hahha yes, even I’ve done that before!)
“Why don’t you make the Beauty Balm in a larger size?”
Because Vitamin C needs to be fresh!
The longer it sits, the more it oxidizes — which means it becomes less effective and can even corrode the balm over time. We keep it in smaller jars intentionally so that you’re always getting top quality, effective Vitamin C when its most potent.
“Why don’t you make a gel cleanser?”
The truth is, most of the ingredients needed to make a true gel cleanser — those thickening agents and surfactants — don’t meet our standards for “clean.” They’re often harsher and can strip the skin of its natural oils, which isn’t the kind of clean we believe in. We’d rather your skin feel balanced and comfortable, not squeaky-clean.
“Why don’t you charge for skincare consultations?”
Because we want people to actually experience the products — no pressure, no awkward sales pitch. We’re passionate are about helping you understand your skin and what it needs, not pushing you toward a purchase. If you fall in love with something afterward, great! But our main goal is education and connection.
“Why can’t I bring my bottles back for refills?”
Oh, how I wish we could! It’s not that we don’t want to — it’s a combination of sanitation and space. We don’t currently have a system to fully sterilize containers to make sure they’re 100% safe for reuse (and our production area is cozy as you’ve seen, to put it kindly).
That said, we love when customers repurpose our bottles. Use them for travel, refill them with another product, or turn them into cute bud vases or countertop storage. We’re all about finding ways to give them a second life.
“What do you recommend for rosacea or very sensitive skin?”
Our Sensitive Skincare Kit is the best place to start — it’s gentle, soothing, and barrier-supportive. The Kit is designed to help restore skin barrier which can reduce redness, irritation and bring balance back to your skin.
“What do you recommend for acne?”
Our Acne Kit was made just for that — to support healing without stripping your skin. It focuses on balancing oil production, calming inflammation, and strengthening the skin barrier (because harsh treatments usually just make it worse).
“What about young girls just starting a skincare routine?”
This is one of my favorite questions because I get it from moms all the time. For ages 9–12, simple is best. A gentle routine using our Chamomile Face Wash, Kaolin Clay Mask, and Face Cream is plenty. No need for serums or toners yet — just learning to care for their skin in a consistent, gentle way is perfect.
I love that our customers care enough to ask questions like these. It shows me that people want to understand what they’re putting on their skin — and that’s what Simple Body has always been about: transparency, simplicity, and trust.
If you have more questions (and I’m sure you do!), stop by the shop or send me a message at Jewels@simplebodyproducts.com. Chances are, if you’re wondering about it — ten other women are too.
